Twenty years ago, Louisville passed its Fairness Ordinance, which prohibits discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations based on sexual orientation or gender identities, according to Kentucky Fairness. This year also marks two significant anniversaries for the LGBTQ community. The festival, held Friday-Saturday in downtown Louisville, features a Pride Parade and a star-studded musical lineup at on the Big Four Lawn at Waterfront Park, 1100 River Road, that features Grammy winner Daya and digital warrior princess Mykki Blanco for the 19th annual event. The Kentuckiana Pride Festival has been a key part of the Louisville's LGBTQ community since its first celebration in 2001, and the 2019 festival looks to be bigger and better than ever.
